Sssssh... and listen to nature

..that was what the sign had read at the beginning of The Spring Creek Walk at Buchan Caves.  During a road-trip to Victoria, this had been another fabulous spot on the map, 817 km. from home, to stop a while, stretch the legs, fresh air ... and explore.

Down in the gully you could hear the fascinating variety of calls from a Superb Lyrebird.  And, had I managed a decent photo of it, I could've posted this over on my Snap Happy Birding blog!  I really am trying to separate the two, a birding-blog there, and whatever else, here.

Even though this was way back in 2007, the memories haven't faded, and as we'd walked along the Kanooka Track, the lush green mosses suggested it was a magical place.

Such a magical walk Carole, it has reminded me of a walk I did in NZ last year, deep in the forest and moss everywhere. I particularly like the tree roots covered by moss, looks pre historic.

A wonderful place - I was sure I'd see a Leprechaun in one of your photos! lol

Beautiful country! The tree in the last shot looks quite large, at least judging by the roots.

The sound of a small stream as well as the bird song is very pleasant Carole.

These all look as if they were taken right here in my State Park I hike all the time...exactly. Glad you mentioned your additional blog as I had no idea. I have a hard enough time keeping up just my one. Good luck with this one.

These were wonderful. That last shot of the tree trunk and the moss is my favorite.

Great photos Carole and a lovely walk you took us on here. You mentioning the Lyre bird, what an amazing bird it is. I watched a nature show, it was called Birds of Paradise, and Richard Attenborough was the host. It was one of my favorites.

hi Carole. Yes that was a magical walk with gorgeous shot. you know Carole, I do not think that bloggers would mind in the least if these shot were incorporated into your other blog. You seem to be giving yourself a lot more work but if you have the time, I suppose it is OK. I am very glad when I made my birding blog that I also wrote below it, and anything to do with nature or the great outdoor. I have found it really covers so much. anyhow, hope your weekend is going well. I am over on the I.O.W. agin, puppy minding and she is a handful!

It is lovely in the mossy forests and nice and quiet. I love the ones in Tasmania.

This is natural that I also really love Carole. Beautiful blog with beautiful pictures.

PS I'm late to respond, but I had last week, three days long course of my work and therefore did not respond to add.

Love all of the rocky moss and streams here, and what a beautiful spot this is. This reminds me very much of areas near our cabin, so felt right at home. Was looking at your sidebar with the photo of two of you, and i was like.... ummmm, do you have a twin that I don't know about. See you were playing around digitally, which is a great way to "get" a twin that you done really have. What fun, and have now joined this blog so I can see you here too. Hugs!
