Paulownia

Considered an invasive species in the U.S., it seems that Paulownia comes into its own as a viable, fast-growing plantation timber. With its origins in Asia, the timber is extremely versatile, and lightweight. Used commercially in the making of items such as guitars, surfboards, motor-homes, window shutters etc.

This is really a lovely flower, Carole. I don't think I've ever seen it here in the U.S.
